We are gearing up for back to school time here. To make it a little easier on our budget we decided to do some DIY back to school fashion. My oldest already shared here a sweater she updated. She had a few ideas on some t-shirt to make too. You know me, I’m always up for a DIY project. They turned out great so we think everyone should make some Back to School T-shirts with Printable Heat Transfer Material. This post is just one idea using products from Expressions Vinyl. You can see dozens of great projects from creative bloggers at the end of this post. Hop through all of the ideas and create something fantastic! #VinylProjects #ExpressionsVinyl
We found inexpensive plain t-shirts at both Target and Forever 21. We washed them first and I let my daughter pick out some fun designs. We made a white shirt and a black shirt so we used both transfer material for light fabric and dark material.
Following the directions on the package for the light material we printed our chosen design onto the heat transfer material using our home color printer.
The directions on the package say to cut using a Silhouette but we don’t have one of those (yet) so we used scissors to cut out the shape.
I had my daughter put on the t-shirt and hold the cut out image where she wanted it, then just measured from the neckline how far down that was.
We followed the directions to iron on the image, let it cool, peeled off the backing paper and ta-da, she has a cool shirt to wear.
The second t-shirt we made surprised me but I guess she is a teenager and most teens love Pizza right?!?!
We followed the package directions for the dark fabrics since we were starting with a plain black t-shirt for the pizza design.
Pizza and studying go together perfectly!
What would be the perfect thing on your kiddo’s t-shirt?
Now I promised more great ideas right so here you go check them all out!!!
Thanks for stopping by At Home with Sweet T!!!
