Cheesy Joes
I have an easy recipe for you today. My family loves it. When I was a kid my babysitter used to make this “stuff” and shared with my mom how to make it and we’ve been making it and eating it ever since. This recipe has never had a name. It’s been called that cheesy stuff, the Velveeta stuff, the mixed up meat with cheese sandwich stuff. None of those names sound that great. Since I’ve been using the Menu board I’ve needed something to call it so I went with Cheesy Joes, they are similar to Sloppy Joes, actually just as sloppy but different too. Here’s the recipe for some great stuff we like to call Cheesy Joes.
Ingredients:
1 lb. Ground beef
1 lb. ground sausage
16 oz. Velveeta Cheese, cubed
1/2 cup milk
1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
Buns
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef and sausage together in large pan, drain grease.
2. Add Velveeta cheese, milk, and Oregano to cooked meat on Med-Low heat regularly stirring as the cheese melts. 3. Serve warm
It doesn’t get much easier than that! Over the years we have eaten these and done some silly or strange things but I thought I should share them with you. This stuff makes a good chip dip! Lol You need a stiff chip like a ridged chip or Frito scoops. And speaking of chips add some chips to your sandwich and crunch it all together. I’m not sure if it’s the salty chips but it really is good however strange it might be.
We do save leftovers of this in the fridge, to warm add some milk or water before microwaving.
Enjoy!
